Who are we working with Touch India Trust Shiksha Rath What do we do Is an after-school project that offers holistic education to underprivileged children. Our aim is to equip these children with necessary skills (academic, life, language, technology, awareness) There are two main programs run by the school: Shiksha Rath Academy offers a 3-hour daily (Monday to Friday) holistic primary school teaching to children aged 4-9 and aims to supplement their school subjects . Shiksha Rath Tutorials offers a 2-hour daily session (Monday to Friday). It focuses on their regular school lessons and gives special English spoken language class. This program is open for all the children in grade 1 to 9. Why do we do it We focus on marginalised populations in the slum after-school programs have a two fold benefit: they provide a safe environment for children and they enable mothers/ parents to continue jobs and livelihoo opportunities.
